Hotel in Rome? Triplomat stays at Hotel Quirinale

Deciding on a central location for touring Rome can be confusing. Vatican? Spanish Steps? Colloseum? Roman Forum? St. Peter’s Basilica? All are within walking distance from a comfortable room at Rome’s Hotel Quirinale

We used booking.com to choose Quiranale at last minute the day before our train approached Rome’s Stazione Termini.

Central Rome, Easy Booking, Decent Price

The hotel is a few minutes walk from Rome’s main railway station — and there is a McDonalds on the way for US travelers missing a taste of home). The hotel staff were fluent in English and welcomed us with a nice room upgrade (it pays to be a Triplomat).

Nice rooms in Rome
Rooms are spacious and even.. oppulant.

Views of the bustling streets were a bonus.

Our room was large and well appointed. The old hardwood floors creaked a little and the furniture was definitely aged, but solit and in good condition. I’d call it charming. Some had told us that a Garden room would be more quiet. In our street-facing room, the windows shut out most of the noise when we didn’t welcome the bustling sound of a main street in Rome, and sleep was no problem – especially after walking, walking, walking the sites of the city. The bathroom was well stocked and included shampoo, conditioner, lotion, a hair dryer, large towells, two bathrobes, slippers and a large changing area.

Quirinale has a lovely courtyard, indoor and outdoor dining, and a large lobby with free wifi for guests. The wifi in our room was weak, and a little slow. Guests must get a code for each device every 24 hours. The hotel has a small gym on the ground floor that is clean and includes weights, towels, a treadmill and not much more. There art at every level which adds a comfortable charm and sense of belonging.

Slippers and robes are included.

Surrounded by restaurants, a bookstore, cafes, and interesting shops, weary travelers can get just about everything needed without wandering too far on the first arrival. We used a fruit stand just on the corner to stock up on water and bananas.

The self serve breakfast buffet includes hot eggs, meats, breads, fruit, juices and unlimited coffee and tea. Guests can order off a menu if desired. Service is quick and friendly.

With a central location, classic charm, decent prices and amenities, we will use Hotel Quirinale for our next stay in Rome.
